McKEE, Elwood - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Elwood S. McKee, 82, who has resided on a farm north of Hillsboro for the past 23 years died at the Small Nursing Home in Waynetown at 7:30 a.m. Monday March 9th. He has been in declining health for the past few years and was a patient in the Nursing Home for a week.  Born Jan 19, 1877 in Fountain County he was the son of James and Sarah Lawson McKee.  He was the last member of a large family.  He was married to Carrie Agnes Briner on Sept 19, 1908.  Mr. McKee, a retired farmer, was a member of the Veedersburg EUB Church. Survivors include the widow and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Samuel Pritchard, pastor of the Veedersburg Church officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Peters, pastor of the Congregational Christian Church of Mellott. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. – kbz
