Danville, Ill.—George B. McIntyre, 66, Danville, died at 5:16 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 1989 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Danville, the son of Bert and Violet McBride McIntyre. He was married April 27, 1956 in Paris, Ill., to Maxine Pittman, who survives.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1979 from Berkeley-Davis. He had also worked for Danville Construction Company. He attended Bowman Avenue Methodist Church. He was a member of VFW, Teamsters and UAW 579.
Surviving besides his wife are four daughters, Diana Luzader, Perrysville; Janet Mitchell and Patty Wright, both of Oakwood, Ill., and Debbie Baker, Alvin, Ill.; a son, Robert Michael, Tilton, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Winnie Sharp, Danville, Calif.; Ruth McDowell, Fremont, Calif., and Lela Knight, Danville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a grandson.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Barrick & Sons Guardian Chapel with the Rev. Gene Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Danville National Cemetery. – thanks to s
