William Elmer McIntosh, age 65, Fountain County surveyor and resident of 821 Fifth St., died at 2:20 p. m. Monday, Sept. 10, in Lake View Hospital in Danville where he had been a patient six days. He had been in ill health with a heart condition for some time. Mr. McIntosh, farmer in Warren County, 25 years and a retired school teacher, was born Nov. 2, 1890, in Warren County, the son of Frank E. and Maude I. Goodrick McIntosh. He was married March 16, 1920 to Jennie L. Fields, who preceded him in death Feb. 27, 1955. He taught school at Foster, Rabb in Wabash Township, Sterling and Vine Township schools. He was a veteran of World War I, serving two years with the military police. Mr. McIntosh was a member of the Fulton Banta Post 291, American Legion of Covington, Fountain Lodge No. 60, F&AM, Valette Chapter 207, Order of Eastern Star of Veedersburg and of the Covington Methodist Church. Surviving are: two sons, William E. Jr., of Veedersburg Rt. 4, and John Franklin (Jack) of London, England; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Cronkhite of West Lebanon, Mrs. Edith Pribble of Williamsport, Mrs. Marie Ewen of Sheldon, Ill.; and Mrs. Dorothy Foster of Williamsport; and four brothers, George and Estel of Williamsport, Paul of Dayton, Ohio, and Harold of Fowler. He was preceded in death by two brothers in infancy. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon, Sept. 13, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. G. Elwood Anderson, pastor of the local Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Graveside rites were conducted by the Fulton Banta American Legion Post. --typed by Walt W
