COVINGTON — William E. McIntosh Jr., 45, of 821 Fifth St., died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since Sept. 2. A civil engineer, Mr. McIntosh was employed the last 21 years as a registered engineer with the State Highway Department. He was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Warren County, a son of William and Jennie Fields McIntosh. He was wed June 26, 1949 to Doris F. Mettee, who survives. Mr. McIntosh served three and a half years with the Seabees in World War II and was in the Pacific Theater of operations. He was a former member of the Veedersburg Methodist Church and was graduated in 1939 from Veedersburg High School. He attended Purdue University. He was a member of Fulton-Banta Post 219, American Legion, Fountain County Old Guard Post 2395, VFW, and Fountain Lodge 60, F&AM, all of Covington, besides the Wallace Low Twelve Club, Gao Grotto of Danville and Swords of Bunker Hill. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Susan Jenelle, at home; a brother, John F. McIntosh of Indialantic, Fla., and aunts and uncles. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home, where friends may call. Rev. Glenn Ray and Rev. Harold Fogle will officiate, with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Thursday and military rites at the graveside Friday. --typed by Walt W

William E. Mclntosh Jr., age 45, of 821 Fifth St., Covington, died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in St. Elizabeth Hospital m Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since Sept. 2.
A civil engineer, Mr. McIntosh, was employed the last 21 years as registered engineer with the Indiana State Highway Department.
He was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Warren County, the son of the late William E. and Jennie Fields Mclntosh. He was married June 26, 1949 to Doris F. Mettee, who survives.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Glenn Ray and the Rev: Harold Fogle officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery where military rites were conducted at the graveside. Masonic rites were held at the funeral home Thursday night.
