COVINGTON - Mrs. Mary K. McGowen, age 76, of Danville, Ill., sister of Mrs. Myrtle Wynkoop of Covington and Mrs. Pearl Crowder of Perrysville died at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 (1969), at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, where she had been a patient about three weeks. Mrs. McGowen was born June 23, 1893, in Manchester, Ky., to William and Vina Robinson Stetser. She attended the Free Methodist Church. Surviving are: one son, Kenneth of Catlin, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Nancy Church of Danville, Mrs. Louisa Alcott of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Crowder of Perrysville and Mrs. Wynkoop of Covington. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Wagel, in February of 1956; her second husband, James McGowen, in June of 1969; one brother and four sisters. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Barrick and Son Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Ralph Bright officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, north of Danville.  -- jlr
