Mrs. Nora E. Truhart McGowan, age 70 of Cheyenne, WYO, a former resident of Attica died at 10 a.m. Saturday Feb 4 (1967) at the Lafayette Care Home. She had been a patient there since Aug 7, 1966. Mrs. McGowan was born June 4, 1896 in Attica the daughter of Eward and Catherine Reardon Truhart. She was married in July 1960 to RA McGowan who survives.  Mrs. McGowan left Attica for Cheyennes in 1946 and returned in 1966 due to failing health.  She had been a telephone operator at the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. She was a member of the Catholic Church, Golden Age Society, National Woman’s Relief Corps and Auxiliary to the GAR.  Surviving in addition to the husband is one sister, Mrs. CF (Markaret) Oakley of Spokane, Wash.  Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Attica. The Rev. Charles Remaklus officiated and burial with the DeSutter Funeral Home in charge was in the Catholic Cemetery at Attica.
