George P. McGlashan, 74, of Hillsboro, was found dead in bed by his wife about 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, when she arose. He had not been feeling well for the past week, but , was not under a physician's care. Tuesday night he was as well as8 usual, and they retired after 10 o'clock.
Ralph Nelson, Fountain County Coroner, was called and reported death due to a coronary.
Mr. McGlashan was born Dec. 16, 1986 in Port Huron, Mich., and was the last of a family of six sons. He served in World War I. He was married to Odessa Woodard on June 7, 1935. An infant son preceded him in death, and the widow is the only survivor.
He was a member of Hillsboro Memorial Post 188 American Legion. He and his wife moved to Hillsboro six years ago, Spending their summers here and the winters in the Sailors and Soldiers Home in Quincy, Ill., where they were planning to return in September
Funeral services will be held at the Crumley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Ron Carlson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Memorial Post American Legion of Hillsboro. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace. - jz
