Lillie May McGinnis was born in Fountain County, Indiana January 29, 1879 and departed this life November 15, 1944 in Alamo, Indiana at the age of 64 years 9 months 16 days. A daughter of Dennis and Laura Bowman, she was married in 1896 to Henry E. McGinnis in Fountain County and spent her earlier years in Fountain County and then moved to Parke County and later to Alamo. Two sons were born to them -- Lonnie Eston McGinnis and Orvin McGinnis who survive. In her girlhood days Lillie made the vows of allegiance to Almight God that unitecd her in membership with the Wallace Christian Church. Later she transferred her membership to the Lusk Chapel Pentecostal church. Mrs. McGinnis was a good woman, she helped the sick and needy time and time again. She was of a generous and cheerful disposition. ...She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Henry E. McGinnis, two sons, Lonnie Eston McGinnis of Parke County and Orvin McGinnis of Crawfordsville. Two brothers, Nelson Bowman and Alva Bowman near Wallace; three half brothers, Henry W. Bowman of Wallace; Smauel Bowman of near Wallace and George Bowman of Frankfort, Indiana and two grandchildren.
