PERRYSVILLE - Funeral services for Francis Andrew McGinnis Sr., age 77, of Westville, father of Ora McGinnis of Perrysville, who died Monday night, Sept. 14, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., were held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Irene Devine officiated and burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Mr. McGinnis was born Aug. 2, 1893, in Kingman, the son of Thomas and Susan Starns McGinnis. After obtaining his schooling at a rural school near Kingman, he began farming. In 1920, he farmed north of Danville and later farmed near Hoopeston and Rossville, Ill. He retired from farming and moved to Danville where he worked as a cab driver for the Red Top Cab Co. for 12 years. He first married Myra Zackmire near Kingman in September 1914. She died in July 1928. He then married Ruby Fern Nelson Dec. 31, 1931, at Paris, Ill., and she survives. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: six sons, Ora of Perrysville, Thomas Harold of Chandler, Eldon L. of Hoopeston, Donald Lee of Bellview, Neb., Francis A. Jr. of Fort Worth, Tex., and Eugene of Danville; three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Clay of Branchland, W.Va., Mildred List of Washington, Ill., and Wilma Loding of East Moline, Ill.; 28 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and two brothers. -- jlr
