  Kingman—Mrs. Bessie McGinnis, 79, of Kingman, Route 1, died at 9:10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8 at the Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville, where she had been a patient for a year.
  Born in Parke County on Feb. 13, 1893, she was the daughter of Cyrenus and Candice McKinsie Atkinson. On June 4, 1910, she was married to Parvin McGinnis who died Aug. 18, 1960.
  She was a retired practical nurse and a member of the Rush Creek Church near Tangier.
  Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Helen Selby of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Lois McMullen of New Ross and Mrs. Gladys Poole of West Summerland, British Columbia; two sons, Arista of Kingman Route 1 and Thomas Elmer of Parkersburg; two brothers, Drank Atkinson of Veedersburg and Clifford Atkinson of Moorehead, N.C.; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
  Services were Wednesday at the Woodrow Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Bunn of Parkersburg officiating. Burial was in the Zackmire Cemetery.

Kingman - Mrs. Bessie McGINNIS, 79, died at 9:10 a.m. Monday in Ben Hur Nursing Home, Crawfordsville where she had been a patient for a year. She was married June 4, 1910 to Parvin McGinnis who preceded her in death August 18, 1960. She was born Feb 13, 1893, in Parke County, a daughter of Cyrenus and Candice McKinsey Atkinson. Survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Helen Selby of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Lois McMullen of New Ross and Mrs. Gladys Poole of West Summerland, British Columbia; two sons, Arista of Rt 1 Kingman and Thomas Elmer of Parkersburg; two brothers, Frank Atkinson of Veedersburg and Clifford Atkinson of Moorehead, NC; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman with Rev. Frank Bunn of Parkersburg officiating. Burial will be in Sackmire Cemetery near Kingman. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 this evening.  --kbz
