Charles “Butch” McGill of Dana, age 61, died Wednesday, July 28, in the Union Hospital at Terre Haute. He was born in Indiana, January 5, 1921, the son of Charles and Anna Bennett McGill. He married Vica Nickols, who survives. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Perrysville American Legion Post, Clinton One-Half Century Club and Dana Clown Club. He was a member of Dana Fire Department and was sergeant-at-arms of the Indiana Firemen’s Association. McGill was a distributor with Sunoco-Pickett Oil Company.
Also surviving are a daughter, Eula Mae Bush of Dana; a son, Roy of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three sisters, Charlene Stewart of California; Donna Jean Harrison of Zionsville and Mary Ellen Jackson of Kingman; an uncle, Francis Bennett of Dana; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Overpeck Funeral Home in Dana with Rev. Jack Wilburn officiating. Military graveside rites by the American Legion and burial were in Bono Cemetery. – thanks to S
