VEEDERSBURG - Mrs. Dorothy N. McGary, 62, of Veedersburg Route 4, died at 10 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 24, 1973), collapsing as she walked to her auto from the Fountain Central-Covington sectional game at Fountain Central High. She was pronounced dead at a doctor's office in Veedersburg. Death was attributed to natural causes. Born Oct. 22, 1910, in Fountain County, she was the daughter of Jesse A. and Gertie Ward Gross. She was married to George A. Lyons, who preceded her in death. On May 15, 1950, in Princeton, she was married to Richard "Mike" McGary, who survives. She was a member of the Stone Bluff First United Methodist Church and Ladies Aid. Survivors also include two sons, Jim and David Lyons, both of Veedersburg: two daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Hallcom and Miss Susan Lyons, both of Bloomington; a brother, Harold Gross of Veedersburg; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at the Stone Bluff First United Methodist Church with the Rev. August Huber officiating. Burial will be in Osborne Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Parham Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services. - jlr
