William P. McELWEE was born at Wallace, Ind Dec 1863 died at his home near State Line Aug 19, 1903 of typhoid fever. Was married to Ella C. Robins April 10, 1887 and lived a faithful husband until his death. To this union was born 3 children, two boys and one girl. The girl died when only a few days old. The funeral was preached at the family residence by Miss Hattie Laneve of State Line. The sermon was a forcible one. The choir from State Line Methodist Church sang, We'll never say good bye and When the roll is called up yonder. THe pall bearesr were: messrs Marion and Frank Elder; J. Olehy; Charles Printy; Frank Roderich and Marion Kerent. Interment at Masonic Cemetery near State Line in Warren County. He was a member of the Asbery Chapel Church. he made the confesson early in life and those that knew him best say the last few years he had lived a devoted Chrisitan life. He had made many friends which was expressed by the large crowd that turned out to pay the last respect to all that was mortal. Mr. McElwee was doing well financially. He had worked hard and accumualted quite a good deal besides he leaves his family well protected by a life insurance policy in Knights and ... (too dark to read).
