Oscar McElwee, 80 died at 10:45 p.m. Monday Sept 29, 1958 at the home of his son, in Kingman. Mr. McElwee was a retired farmer and a member of the Freedom Church near Wallace. He was born May 18, 1878 near Wallace, son of Matthew and Mary Ann Parks McElwee. His wife, the former Edith Paschal, preceded him in death in March 1938, and he was also preceded by a son, a daughter, four brothers and five sisters. Surviving are a son, Munson of Kingman; a daughter, Mrs. Ida Helms of Veedersburg; 9 grandchildren and 13 greats. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman with Rev. Paul DuBois officiating. Burial in Lutheran Cemetery near Wallace. Friends will be received after noon Wed at the funeral home.
