Kingman - Munson McElwee, 66, of Veedersburg, died Monday morning at the home of his son, James at 408 W. 2nd Street, Veedersburg. He was a watch maker. He was a member of the American Legion, IOOF and Modern Woodmen, all of Kingman. He was a WWII veteran and member of New Liberty Christian Church. Born Jan 19, 1910, he was the son of Oscar and Olivia Pascal McElwee. His wife Helen Lindquist preceded him in death July 26, 1973. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Carolyn) Purple of Veedersburg, two sons, Robert and James both of Veedersburg, a sister, Mrs. Ida Helms of Veedersburg, and 7 grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman with Rev. George Souza officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
