Mrs. Jennie Cory McElwee, 84, died early Tuesday morning in the home of her son, Harold on Rt. 2, Veedersburg. She had been ill for the past year and seriously ill the past 3 months. Mrs. McElwee was a housewife and had been a resident of Covington since 1947. She was born Sept 20, 1885 in Wallace, ind to Joseph and Mary Ann Livingston Cory. She married John McElwee on Jan 24, 1909. She was a member of the Freedom Congregational Church of Wallace. Surviving are her husband, one son, Harold, one daughter, Mrs. Dallas Livington of Wayneotwn; one sister, Mrs. Bloomer Frazier of New Richmond; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hegg Funeral Home in Covington. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington, Rev. Karns of Osborn Prarie Church will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
