Mrs. Inez McDermond, 87, 207 Avenue One, Attica, died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, at her home. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She was a former editor and publisher of the Attica Ledger Tribune.

  Born July 12, 1896 near Judyville in Warren County, she was the daughter of John S. and Ida Hartz Davis. On January 18, 1916, she married Frank McDermond Jr. He was then editor and publisher of the Ledger-Tribune and following his death in October of 1946, she took over management of the newspaper.

  She was a graduate of Attica High School and a member of First United Church of Attica, Chapter 125 of Order of Eastern Star, and Delta Theta Chapter of Kappa, Kappa, Kappa.

  Survivors include a son, John D. McDermond of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Rodgers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Guy L. Davis, and her parents.
  Services were conducted Friday at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. R. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
