McDANIEL, Josephine Livengood

Word has been received of the recent death of a former resident of Covington, Josephine Livengood Webb McDaniel, who died April 9 in New Albany, where she had made her home since 1948. She was born in Covington, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arista T. Livengood. Her father, the second mayor of Covington, was a prominent attorney in the city for 50 years.
A 1922 graduate of Covington High School, she attended Madame Blaker Teachers College in Indianapolis and was also employed at the statehouse in a secretarial position. Mrs. McDaniel retired from the New Albany Public School system in 1976 after 15 years employment as a secretary. In 1924, she married Bernard M. Webb. He was manager of the New Albany office of Indiana Bell Telephone Company and died in 1959. In 1962, she married James A. McDaniel, who died in 1973.
She was a member of Psi Iota Xi sorority and the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two children, Marilyn W. Hoch of Indianapolis and John B. Webb of Houston, Texas; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Hoch and Michael Webb. - thanks to S
