Jesse J. McDaniel, age 45, a resident of the Covington community for 17 years, died at 5.40 p. m. Sunday, May 13, in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, where he had been a patient since April 11. Mr. McDaniel had been employed the past two years at the General Electric plant in Danville. He had previously been employed at the Covington Grain Co., and also had done farm work. Born Nov. 26, 1916, at Somerset, Ky., he was the son of Carl and Pearl Whitus McDaniel. He was married to Dorothy Murphy on April 8, 1943. Surviving are his wife; three children, Kay, a freshman nursing student at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gary and Lynn, both at home; his father, Carl, Covington Rt. 3; and two brothers, Earl of Attica and Ray of Covington. He was preceded in death by his mother, and five brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held at 4:30 p. m. today, Wednesday, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Glenn Ray officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W

Jesse J. McDaniel, 45, died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 1962, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville.  He had been a patient there since April 11.
A resident of Covington for 17 years, he had been employed for two years at the General Electric Co. plant in Danville.  Prior to this time, he was employed at the Covington Grain Co.
Born Nov. 26, 1916, at Somerset, Ky., he was the son of Carl and Pearl Whitus McDaniel.  He was married April 8, 1943, to Dorothy Murphy, who survives.
Other survivors include three children, Kay, a freshman nursing student at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gary and Lynn, both at home; his father of Covington Route 3, and two brothers, Earl of Attica and Ray of Covington.
He was preceded in death by his mother and five brothers and sisters.
Services were at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington.  The Rev. Glenn Ray officiated.  Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  - jz
