COVINGTON — Harvey E. McDaniel,
82, 3381 W 260 N, Covington, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2000 in
Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis. He was born Feb. 2, 1918 in
Evansville, the son of Claude and Laura May Upton McDaniel. He married Delores
Juanita Key Allen June 22, 1974. She preceded in death March 4, 1993. He was a
veteran of the Navy during World War II. He had been a resident of Covington
since 1965 when he moved from Indianapolis. He was a driver for Clemans Truck
Lines for 34 years, retiring in 1970. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He
was a life member of Teamsters Local #135 and Fulton Banta Post #291 American
Legion. Survivors include: two daughters, Sharon (George) Murphy, Indianapolis
and Nancy (Don) Alexander, Spencer; two sons, Clarence (Wilma) McDaniel, Avon
and Arvin (Cindy) McDaniel, Anderson; two step daughters, Connie (Bill) Davis,
Covington and Susan (Norman) Sherman, Kingman; a step son, Johnny (Delores)
Hayden, Attica; 13 grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; 24
great-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by his parents and two sons, Charles and Hervey McDaniel. Funeral services were
at 11 a.m. Saturday in Shelby Funeral Home, Attica, with Brent Walters
officiating. Cremation followed funeral services. – jlr
