ATTICA — Gary W. McDaniel, 55, 414 E. Monroe St., Attica, died at 7:14 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2000 at his residence. He had been in failing health for two years. He was born Feb. 8, 1945 in Williamsport, the son of Jessie James McDaniel and Dorothy Murphy McDaniel Birge. He married Glenda D. Dotson Nov. 4, 1967 in Attica, who survives. He was raised in Covington and graduated from Covington High School. He had lived in Attica since 1967. He was a car salesman for Brackens Motors for the past 25 years. He also had worked for 5 1/2 years as a clerk for Super Test in Attica. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War serving in the U. S. Army. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Attica First United Methodist Church. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a son, Brad (Heather) McDaniel, Attica; two daughters, Melissa Gosnell, Attica and Dianne McDaniel, Indianapolis; his mother, Dorothy Birge, Covington; a sister, Robin (Tim) Shultz, Covington; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Kay Keeling and a brother, Lynn McDaniel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Maus Funeral Home. Attica, with the Rev. Jeff Newton officiating. Burial with military gravesite services will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday). Memorials contributions may best be expressed by donations to the American Cancer Society or St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. – jlr
