Veedersburg—Samuel McCutchan, 47, of Veedersburg Route 1, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 1974 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He had been a patient for nine weeks following a stroke.
Born July 2, 1927, in Kingman, he was the son of Samuel H. and Vernie Gammell McCutchan. On May 5, 1956 in Hillsboro, he married Ola Mae Manasco, who survives.
Mr. McCutchan had been employed by Tee Pak Co. of Danville. He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church at Veedersburg and Veedersburg Masonic Lodge 491 F&AM.
Other survivors include a son, Gary Linn at home; a daughter, Denise at home; a brother, James of Veedersburg; five sisters, Mrs. Arnold (Florence) Barker of Kendallville, Mrs. Wiley (Thelma) Tipton of Florida City, Fla., Mrs. Robert (Tiny) Horton of Veedersburg, Mrs. E. J. (Mary Jane) O’Black of Richland, Wash., and Mrs. Carlyle (Barbara) Shoaf of Vancouver, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Sterling Christian Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Stith officiating. Burial was in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Masonic rites were at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Parham Funeral Home. -s
