Samuel A. McCutchan, age 87, a resident of Veedersburg since 1939, died at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Carmen Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. He had been a patient there since Sunday and he had been ill several years.
Mr. McCutchan was born July 31, 1880, in Parke County, the son of Orlando and Martha Matthews McCutchan. He was married in 1907 to Verna Gimell, who preceded him in death in 1961. He was a self employed trucker. He was the last of a family of six children.
Surviving are: five daughters, Mrs. Florence Andrews of Clearwater, Fla., Mrs. Thelma Tipton of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Mary Jane O'Black of Richland, Wash., Mrs. Barbara Shoaf of Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Bethel Horton of Veedcrsburg; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Fishero Funeral Home here. The Rev. Bill Wilhite officiated and burial was in the Harveysburg Cemetery.
