DANVILLE, ILL. - Mrs. Estle Minnie McCracken, age 81, of 327 N. Hazel St., a native of Fountain County, Ind., died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at St. Elizabeth Hospital here where she had been a patient several months. She had been failing health for several years. Mrs. McCracken was born Nov. 18, 1885, at Wallace, Ind., the daughter of George W. and Susan Hamm Gillis. Her schooling was at Silverwood, Ind. She was employed at the ammunition plant at Newport, Ind., before moving to Danville in 1944. Her last employment was at a cleaning establishment here. She was married Aug. 24, 1902, in Veedersburg, to Edward I. McCracken, who preceded her in death in 1944. Surviving are: one brother, John Gillis of Danville, and one sister, Mrs. Catheryn Stakley of Harvey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church here. The Rev. Leo Bates officiated and burial, with the Pape Memorial Home in charge, was in Sunset Memorial Park. - jlr
