George Edward McCoy, 60, of 511 Franklin, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday (Aug. 7, 1970) at the Veterans Administration Hospital. Son of Thomas O. and Paulina Strain McCoy, he was born Aug. 5, 1910 in Yeddo, Ind. A retired VA employee, Mr. McCoy was a member of the Amvets and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his widow, the former Mabel Thompson; a son, Sgt. Gary McGilton, U.S. Army; three daughters, Mrs. Cathryn Schimmel of Frankfort, Ind., Mrs. Barbara Mondray of Chicago; Mrs. Sharon Hendricks of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three brothers, James F. McCoy of Tilton, Leroy McCoy of Cayuga, Ind., Arthur McCoy of Sullivan, Ind.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Visitation is from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Barrick and Son Funeral Home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Goodwin Funeral Home in Frankfort with burial in the Bunnell Cemetery there. - jlr
