ATTICA — Zella M. Powell Durnil
McCown, 53, Attica, died Friday, March 31, 2000 in Indiana University Medical
Center, Indianapolis. She was born March 10, 1947 in Danville, Ill., the
daughter of Russell Edward and Mary Zella Winslow Powell. She attended Lynch
Grade School and high school. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary
and the Assembly of God Church in Attica. She loved crocheting, playing bingo
and going to church. Survivors include: her mother, of Danville, Ill.; two
daughters, Rosetta (Sam) Littlejohn, St. Francisville, and Carla Durnil,
Attica; a son, Edward Durnil, Attica; a grandson, Brent Durnil; two sisters,
Gretchen (Jim) Daffin, Hamilton, Mont. and Elizabeth Marie (Louis) Williams,
Minnesota; and a brother, George Powell, Danville, Ill. She was preceded in death
by her father and her step father, Robert Powell. Funeral services will be at 1
p.m. today (Wednesday) at Pape Memorial Home & Gardens, Danville, Ill.,
with Pastor Harvey Lange officiating. Burial will be in Atherton Cemetery. – jlr
