Veedersburg, Nov 11 -- William H. McCord, 76, veteran Veedersburg shoe merchant and more recently president of the First National bank here, died at his home here Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock following an illness of almost one years. Mr. McCord was born at Tangier on Sept 16, 1855 and resided there during his early life. He had lived in Veedersburg for the past 40 years. Mr. McCord was a member of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge and United Brethren Church of this city. Early in life Mr. McCord was married to Miss Emma Heath. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last summer. Mr. McCord is survived by his widow, one son, Dr. CB McCord of this city; one daughter, Mrs. Frank R. Jones of Crafordsville; one sister, Mrs. Harley Hershbarger of near Veedersburg and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed. - kbz
