McCORD, Phyllis Barker - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Phyllis Clay McCord of Crawfordsville, age 63, died Sunday afternoon, March 14, in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. She was born in Covington, January 4, 1919, the daughter of Clay and Miranda Dewlen Barker. December 31, 1940, she married Dr. Gwynn C. McCord, who survives.

  Mrs. McCord was a member of Crawfordsville First United Methodist Church, Art League, Current Events Club and Psi Iota Xi. She was a graduate of Covington High School and Indiana Central Business College and had worked three years as a private secretary for the Retail Credit Company.

  Also surviving are two daughters, Pamela A. Stephenson of Barrington, Illinois, and Patricia L. Schinkel of Stevensville, Michigan; and six grandchildren.

  Graveside services and burial were Tuesday morning in Oak Hill Cemetery at Crawfordsville followed by memorial services Tuesday afternoon at First United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville. Burkhart Funeral Home in Crawfordsville was in charge of arrangements. - thanks to S
