VEEDERSBURG—Mrs. Lydia McConnell, 92, died Saturday at Vermillion Nursing Home in Danville, Ill. She had been a patient there two years. She was born May 25, 1872, near St. Joseph, Ill., to Henry and Maria Young. She married Robert Scott in 1894. Following his death she married George McConnell in 1925. She and her first husband operated a restaurant at Stone Bluff for several years. She was a member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Parham Funeral Home. Burial was in the Osborne Prairie Cemetery. --typed by Walt W

Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia McConnel, 92, who died, Aug. 28 in the Vermilion Nursing Home in Danville, Ill., were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Burial took place in the Osborn Prairie Cemetery.
Mrs. McConnell was born May 25, 1872, the daughter of Henry and Maria Young of near St. Joseph, Ill. She was married in 1894 to Robert Scott and they lived for some years in Stone Bluff, Ind., where they operated a restaurant until his death in 1924. From this marriage, a son and a granddaughter are deceased, while a great granddaughter survives.
In 1925 she was married to George W. McConnell of Henning Ill, who died in 1940. Survivors include four stepchildren, Richard J. McConnell of Henning, Mrs. Retta Marcy of Chandlerville, Mrs. Mary Zimmerman of Sterling, and Mrs. Ethyl Burnett of Davis, Calif.
Mrs. McConnell had attended the Methodist Church in Henning and was a member of Artesia Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
