Veedersburg - Samuel Tilden McCollum, 89, longtime Veedersburg resident, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Ill. He had been in failing health since 1960. Born at Waveland Feb 6, 1876, he was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth LIght McCollum. Most of his life was spent in the Veedersburg area. He married Gertrude Sexton on Dec 21, 1901. The widow survives in Crawfordsville. Prior to entering the Danville hospital, Mr. McCollum was a patient at Rudisill Nursing Home in Covington. He was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church. For many years he was a truck driver for Schlosser Brothers Cream Company of Veedersburg until his retirement. Survivors in addition to the widow are three sons, Fred of West Lafayette; Ernest of Covina, Calif and Ray of Veedersburg; four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Hunt and Mrs. Blanche Petet both of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Maude Booe and Mrs. Bertha Taylor both of Danville, Ill and a sister, Mrs. Susan Crane of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be at 2 pm. Monday at Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated. Burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
