McCOLLUM, Joseph A. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Joseph A. McCollum, 66, died at his home at Mellott at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon after an illness of two years.  He had been bedfast for six weeks.  Born near Waveland, Sept 26, 1874, Mr, McCollum, had resided in Mellott 15 years.  His parents were James T.. and Matilda Jane Burns McCollum. For nine years he was star route mail carrier between Hillsboro and Wallace  Surviving are 3 brothers, Jasper Louis McCollum, who lived in the same home at Mellott; James Atley McCollum, Williamsport; and Charles Henry McCollum, Hillsboro.  Short funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the residence.  Interment will be made in the Centennial cemetery at Yeddo.
