McCOLLUM, Bessie Ellen Myers

Mrs. Bessie Ellen McCollum, 70, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Helen Thompson of Hillsboro where she had resided for the past few months at 12:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.  Her death was due to accidental burns suffered recently over a large portion of her body.

Mrs. McCollum was the daughter of James Daniel and Viola Myers and was born near Wallace July 19, 1877. She was married to Charles McCollum on June 13, 1892 and he died October 20, 1944.

For the past 21 years, Mrs. McCollum has resided in Hillsboro. She was a member of the Prairie Chapel church.

Survivors are one son, Wallace McCollum and two daughters, Mrs. Thompson at whose home she died and Mrs. Nellie Hutts, all of Hillsboro and three grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers Orma Myers of Wallace and a foster sister of Mrs. Ella Ward of near Wallace.

The body was removed to the Crumley and Son Funeral Home in Covington to remain until the funeral service which was held from the Centennial Church near Yeddo at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Arthur Howell, pastor of the Hillsboro Methodist Church was in charge and burial was in the Centennial cemetery near the church.
