Waynetown, May 24 - William Wallace McClure, 87, prominent Montgomery County resident died following a three month serious illness at 11:15 o'clock Sunday morning at his home in Waynetown.  His death was attributed to a complication of diseases.

Mr. McClure, a resident of Indiana for more than 60 years was born near Owingsville, Ky Sept 10, 1848 the son of Mathew B. and Terissa Gugell - Ougell on findagrave - McClure.  He married Angeline Steel on Feb 17, 1870. She died May 19, 1923.  

The deceased was in the undertaking business in Alamo for four years from 1883-1887 and was Ripley Township trustee from 1915-1919.  He was active in the organization of the Farmers and Grangers Insurance company which is now the Indiana Mutual and was the last survivor of the 51 original charter members of that company.  He had lived in Waynetown since 1910 (smudged) and was a member of the local Masonic order.  

Surviving are three sons: William and Clifford both of near Waynetown and Clay McClure of Indianapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Isa Luzar (sic) of Alamo; Mrs. Rena Allen of Hillsboro and Miss Jessie McClure at home, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  A short funeral service will be conducted at the home at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, followed by a public service at the Waynetown Christian Church of which he was a member at 2 o'clock. The rites will be in charge of Rev. WH Newlin of Crawfordsville and burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery here.  The Masonic Lodge will also give its services at the church. - kbz
