HILLSBORO --- Will McClure, age 85, a prominent Montgomery County farmer and brother of Mrs. Harry Allen of Hillsboro, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, where he had been a patient since June 7. He had been in failing health for a long time. He was born Sept. 8, 1882, in Montgomery County, the son of Wallace and Angeline Steele McClure. He was married twice, first to Lavona Moore of Hillsboro in 1905, and the second time to Ida Allen of New Richmond in 1945. His first wife preceded him in death in 1939 and his second wife died in 1964. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Edwin Flanigan of Crawfordsville, with whom he made his home; one son, Theron McClure of Crawfordsville; one sister, Mrs. Allen of Hillsboro; one brother, Clay of Indianapolis; two grandsons, William Flanigan of Minneapolis and David E. Flanigan of White Plains, N. Y., five great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Clifford, and two sisters, Jessie McClure and Mrs. Isa Luzader. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown. The Rev. John Servies officiated and burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W  - kbz

Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Will McClure, prominent Montgomery County farmer, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital. Mr. McClure, 85, was admitted to the hospital June 7 and had been in failing health for a lengthy period. He had retired from active farm work and was residing with a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Flanigan of Crawfordsville. The deceased operated farms in the county for several years. He was a member of several farm organizations and was one of the founders of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. Mr. McClure was active in the YMCA Chorus of Crawfordsville before that group ceased its work. He was a member of the Center Christian Church near Elmdale. Born Sept. 8, 1882, in Montgomery County, he was the son of Wallace and Angeline Steele McClure. Flanigan of White Plains, N.Y.; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Clifford, and two sisters, Jessie McClure and Mrs. Isa Luzader.
