NEWTOWN - Dr. John F. McClure, 58, a native of this area, died early Sunday morning after suffering a stroke at his summer home at Riverdale, Md. Dr. McClure was graduated from Newtown High School in 1927 and from the Ohio State University veterinary college in 1931. After graduation and until his recent retirement, he owned and operated a small animal hospital at Hyattsville, Md. He was a member of the Methodist Church and had served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was born south of Newtown, Oct. 27, 1909, a son of William Archer and Sara Dee (Pugh) McClure. He was married to Ruth Stone, May 10, 1942. Surviving are the widow; his mother; two sons, Bill of Washington, D.C., and John, a student at Cornell University, and a brother, Clarence of Newtown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at Gasch Funeral Home at Hyattsville. Interment will be in Ft. Lincoln Cemetery near Washington. - jlr

NEWTOWN - Dr. John F. McClure, age 58, a native of this area, died early Sunday morning, May 5, after suffering a stroke at his summer home at Riverdale, Md.
Dr. McClure was graduated from Newtown High School in 1927 and from the Ohio State University veterinary college in 1931. After graduation and until his recent retirement, he owned and operated a small animal hospital at Hyattsville, Md.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and had served with the U. S. Army in World War II. He was born south of Newtown, Oct. 27, 1909, the son of William Archer and Sara Dee Pugh McClure. He was married May 10, 1942, to Ruth Stone, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: his mother; two sons, Bill of Washington, D. C., and John, a student at Cornell University, and a brother, Clarence, of Newtown.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Gaseh Funeral Home at Hyattsville. Burial was in Ft. Lincoln Cemetery near Washington.
