Mrs. Sarah McCLain, 63, who had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Harry Hyatt and husband in Lafayette for the past 12 years died about midnight Saturday following a heart attack at her home in the city where she had employed for the past year. She was born Oct 15, 1894, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lang and was married in 1912 to Clarence McClain who preceded her in death in 1945, most of her married life was spent in the vicinity of Stone Bluff. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Lafayette. Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Ileen Hyatt, Lafayette; a son, Louis McClain of Garden Grove, Calif; four sisters: Cylvia and Maude Lang, both of Terre Haute; Mrs. Gold Whitaker and Mrs. Letha Thomas, both of Mich; a brother, Cecil of Veedersburg; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Luke of the Lafayette Methodist Church officiating. Organ music was by Mrs. Mary Louise Newman who also accompanied Mrs. Lucille Parnell and Mrs. Vera Shade who sang, The Lights of Home and Precious Lord, Take my Hand. The Pallbearers were: Albert McClain, Paul Beck, Gerald Lee Beck, Ernest Myer and Herman Foxworthy who also served as flower bearers. Burial was in Union Cemetery west of Newtown.
