WAYNETOWN — Albert V. McClain, 82, Waynetown, died at 4:34 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000 in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. He was born Oct. 16, 1917 in Fountain County, the son of Albert J. and Bonnie Hall McClain. He married Mary Lane Lough March 15 1912 in Sterling She survives. He graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1935. He was a Fountain County farmer for 60 years. He also drove school buses for Richland Township and Southeastern Fountain County School Corporation for 20 years. He was a member of Waynetown Christian Church and a former member of Newtown Christian Church. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a son, Jay McClain, Waynetown; a daughter, Jane Miller, Crawfordsville; a brother, Jacob S. McClain, Overland Park, Kan.; a sister, Mary Esther Messmore, Veedersburg; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Frances Hershberger, Sterling; a brother, Jerry O. McClain, Chicago, Ill. and a grandchild. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, with the Rev. Ed Maurer officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. – jlr

Mr. McClain was a member of Waynetown Christian Church and a former member of Newtown Community Church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Jay McClain of Waynetown' a daughter, Jane Miller of Crawfordsville; a brother, Jacob S. McClain of Overland Park, Kansas; a sister, Mary Esther Messmore of Veedersburg; and 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild. Funeral service was at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2000 with the Rev. Ed Maurer officiating. Interment was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. – jlr

Funeral services are schedule for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown with Rev. Ed Maurer officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
