McCARTY, Ella Roush - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Ella McCarty, 90, a retired teacher, died Monday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles (Jane) Carlson of Round Hill, Va. Mrs. McCarty moved to her daughter's home two years ago. She was a member of Freedom Congregational church. Born Aug. 6, 1884 at Crescent City, Ill., she was a daughter of Amzi and Mary Copple Roush. Surviving with the daughter are a foster daughter, Mrs. Corwin (Jean) Yerkes of Waynetown, and four grandchildren. Her husband, Bert; three brothers; a sister; and a grandchild are deceased. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman with the Rev. George Huff of Lebanon officiating. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery at Muncie, Ill. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.  -- jlr
