Kingman - Mrs. Bertha McCarty, 86, of Rt. 1, Kingman, died early Thursday morning at Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville where she had resided for three months. She was a member of the Freedom Christian Church near Wallace. Born May 21, 1888, at Crescent City, Ill., she was a daughter of Amzi and Mary Copple Roush. Her husband Charles McCarty died in 1960. Mrs. McCarty is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ella McCarty of Round Hill, Va, former Kingman resident, a niece, Mrs. Corwin (Jean) Yerkes of Waynetown; two stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Scruby and Mrs. Jane Roman, both of Indianapolis and several other nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Woodrow Funeral Home with the Rev. George Huff officiating. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery at Muncie, Ill. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.today.

Born May 21, 1888 at
Crescent City, Ill., she was the daughter of Amzie and Mary Copple Roush.
She was married to Charles McCarty, who died in 1960.
Mrs. McCarty was a

Survivors include a
sister, Mrs. Ella McCarty of Round Hill, Va., formerly of Kingman; a niece,
