McCALMENT, Dora Jean - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

VEEDERSBURG - Funeral services for Miss Dora Jean McCalment, a native of Veedersburg who died Friday, July 9, at the Bowles Nursing Home in Crawfordsville, were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery there. Miss McCalment died on her 84th birthday. She was the daughter of Alex and Elizabeth Shipman McCalment. Most of her early life was spent in Veedersburg. She attended Veedersburg schools, Central Normal at Danville, Ind., and Indiana University. While at Veedersburg, she worked as switchboard operator at the Veedersburg Phone Co. Prior to retirement, she did secretarial work in Crawfordsville. Surviving are: two half-sisters, Miss Yola Cleveland of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Edward Antrim of Indianapolis. - jlr
