ATTICA — M. Anne (Mitchell) McCall, 70, Attica, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 in the emergency room of St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She had been ill since August. She was born June 23, 1936 near Newtown, the daughter of Roy and Leona May (Gray) Mitchell. She married William D. MCall June 9, 1956 in Newtown. He survives. She was raised in Newtown and graduated from Richland Township High School in 1955. She had resided in Attica since 1956. She worked for C & D Battery in Attica for 30 years. She worked as a human resource specialist, retiring in 2005. She was a member of the Attica First United Methodist Church, a 50-vear member and past worthy matron for Fern Chapter #194 of Hillsboro, a life member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #3318 of Attica, a life member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #52 of Attica, Attica Fire Fighters Auxiliary, former den mother and den leader coach, and formerly active in the Attica High School Band Boosters. For 25 years, she and her husband led the Potawatomi Parade in Attica dressed in their Native American dress. Survivors, besides the husband, include: two sons, Steve (Mona) McCall and Mitch McCall, both of Attica; four grandchildren, Sean Michael, Kaitlin, Tashina Lyn, and Mykaela Colleen McCall; and three great-grandchildren, Brady Stocker, C. J. Day and Shay Day. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gray and Martin Mitchell. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Ron Mabry officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
