NEWTOWN — Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Josephine McCall, age 88, who died Sunday, June 27, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Frances) Stephens, near Newtown, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Russel & Hitch Funeral Home in Thorntown. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Crawfordsville. Mrs. McCall, who had been ill four years and had resided with her daughter during this time, was born Aug. 14, 1876 in Powell County, Ky., the daughter of Jerry and Mary Jane King. She was married in 1896 to Hubert McCall, who preceded her in death 20 years ago. She is survived by: four sons, Hubert of Thorntown, Dewey and Russell, both of Lafayette, and Thomas in the Army in Washington, D. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Coker of Mr. Carmel, Ill., Mrs. Ella Loston of Owensville and Mrs. Stephens; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. --typed by Walt W

Mrs. Alice Josephine McCall, 88, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Stephens, R 1, Attica. Born in Powell Co KY she spent much of her life in Indiana counties, Tippecanoe, Boone and Fountain. In 1898 she married Richard B. McCall who died in 1945. Surviving are four sons, Dewey & Russell of Lafayette; Hubert of Thorntown and Thomas McCall of the US Army, stationed in Washington DC and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Coker of Mt. Carmel, Ill, Mrs. Ella Lofton of Owensville and Mrs. Stephens. - kz
