McBROOM, Alma Perigo

Mrs. Alma McBroom, 75, of 1015 W. Clay, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 10, 1972) at Lake View Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Friday. She had been ill for several months. She was born Sept. 11, 1897, on a farm near Winthrop, Ind., the daughter of Wade and Josie Rodberties Perigo. She married Fred D. McBroom in Watseka in 1935. He survives. She taught grade school for several years in Warren County, Ind. She then worked for 25 years as a seamstress at the former Meis Brothers store. She worked for the past several years at Deutsch Sisters store as a seamstress, retiring in March. She was a member of Central Christian Church, where she was active in the Builders Sunday school class. Her hobby was raising flowers. Survivors include three brothers, William H. Perigo of Attica, Ind., Cliff of Lafayette, Ind., and Byron of Highland; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Lucile) Frasch of Attica, and 10 nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeside Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. George Powell will officiate, and burial will be in Mounds Cemetery southeast of Pine Village, Ind. -- jlr
