McBRIDE, Walter - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

ROACHDALE — Walter D. McBride, 55, of Roachdale, a foreman at Detroit Diesel of General Motors Allison Division Corp., died Monday in St. Francis Hospital at Beech Grove. Mr. McBride was foreman at Allison for 34 years. He was a member of Roachdale Masonic Lodge, York Rite at Greencastle and Murat Shrine at Indianapolis. He was born May 18, 1919, at Crawfordsville, a son of Walter B. and Verniece Hershberger. He was married to Margarette Chastain. Surviving with the wife are nine children, David of Denver, Colo.; Jay of Terre Haute; Mrs. Elaine Huber of Greencastle; James McBride and Mrs. Beverly Barker of North Salem; Kim McBride of Bloomington and Roxann, Troy and Tracy, at home; a brother, Lewis E. McBride of Crawfordsville; and six grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Perkins Funeral Home here with burial in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday.  --typed by Walt W
