VEEDERSBURG--Mrs. Martha L. McBride, 86, died at noon Thursday in Fountain Nursing Home at Covington where she had been a patient two years. She had been in failing health three years. Mrs. McBride, a resident of this community 53 years, was a member of the First EUB Church here. She was born Jan. 10, 1878, near Cates, daughter of Valentine and Selina Booe Allen. She married Ora McBride Dec. 11, 1898. He died Nov. 27, 1957. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Merle Atkinson of Frankfort and Mrs. Thelma Frazier of Veedersburg; a brother, Pearl Allen of Kingman; a half-sister, Mrs. Josie Davis of Kingman; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Fishero Funeral Home here. Interment will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Funeral services for Mrs. Martha McBride, 88, a resident of Veedersburg for 53 years, who died Thursday, May 14, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fishero Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating.  Burial took place in Rockfield Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 10, 1878, at Cates, the daughter of Valentine and Selina Booe Allen, and died at the Fountain Nursing Home after being a patient two years.  She was married Dec. 11, 1898, ,to Ora McBride who died Nov. 7, 1957.  She was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Merle Atkinson of Frankfort and Mrs. Thelma Frazier of Veedersburg; a brother, Pearl of Kingman, and a half-sister, Mrs. Josie Davis of Kingman.  She was preceded in death by two children.
