Attica---Services were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica for Freeman M. McBride, age 81, who died unexpectedly at his home in Wingate at 8:45 p. m. Thursday, Nov. 29, after a short illness. Burial was in the Willhite Cemetery near Wingate. Mr. McBride was born Aug. 3, 1881, in Fountain County, a son of John and Mary Alice Brown McBride. He had resided most of his life in Fountain County. Mr. McBride operated a general store at Rob Roy at the intersection of U. S. 41 and Indiana 51 for 40 years until a tornado destroyed the building in 1953. He then retired. He was married Oct. 20, 1903, at Mellott to Effie May Willhite who survives. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Pearl Weigle of Rob Roy and a foster daughter, Mrs. Garnal Scott of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death in 1940 by a foster daughter. --typed by Walt W
