Mellott Dec 9 - Charles W. McAllister (sic - in headline it is M'Alister) 77, died at 12:20 o'clock Sunday afternoon at his home here. He had been ill for two days and death was the result of a stroke. Mr. McAllister was born Feb 9, 1868 near Mellott and was the son of James and Louise Ray McAllister. He never married. Survivors are two brothers, Hurley of Kingman and Lloyd of Mellott and one sister, Mrs. Charles Cooper of Mellott. The body will be taken to the home of his sister in Mellott at 2:30 Monday afternoon. Funeral services held at North Christian Church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Mellot with Rev. Gwaitney in charge; burial in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. - kbz

Mellott – Charles McAllister, 78, died at his home southwest of here at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.  He had suffered a paralytic stroke some time Saturday and was found unconscious in his chair at 1 p.m. Saturday by Mrs. James Lake, a neighbor. The body was removed to the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles Cooper Mellott, Monday afternoon.  Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Congregational Christian Church, Mellott of which he was a member. The pastor Rev. Ivan Gwaltney officiated, burial was in the Masonic Cemetery near Waynetown.  Mr. McAlister was not married and lived alone. He was born Feb 9, 1867 on the farm where he died, son of James A. and Louisa Ray McAllister. He leaves the sister, Mrs. Cooper and two brothers, Lloyd Mellott and Hurley, Kingman (1945). – kbz
