Mellott - Feb 6-Mrs. Louisa McAlister, age 89, widow of James McAlister and resident of this community her entire life died at her home 3 miles SW of Mellott at 9 Monday morning following an illness of 3 months. Complications caused her death. Mrs. McAlister was born on a farm one and one half miles east of Mellot on Sept 11, 1843, a daughter of Jefferson and Alice Ray. She as united in marriage to James McAlister 69 years ago. Her husband preceded her in death March 30, 1918. She was a member of the Christian Church. The deceased is survived by 4 sons: John E of near Mellott; Charles and Otis, at home; Lloyd of Mellott; one daughter, Mrs. Rosa Cooper of Mellot; and one sister, Mrs. Mollie Minnick of Stone Bluff. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
