Mellott - Lloyd McAlister, 68, who, with his wife had operated the Mellott Telephone Exchange the past 33 years died suddenly Saturday evening at 8 o'clock at his home here after being stricken by a heart attack. McAlister was talking with friends when taken ill and died before aid could be summoned. Born June 29, 1884 on a farm south of Mellott, he was the son of James and Loisa Ray McAlister. On March 6, 1920, he married Orpha Parent of Mellott. McAlister was a member of the Mellott Congregational Christian Church and Masonic Lodge at Hillsboro. His earlier years were in farming. Surviving besides the widow are a brother, Hurley McAlister of Kingman; a niece, Miss Wreatha Lindley, a teacher in the Indianapolis schools who made her home with the McAlisters from the age of five; an aunt, Mrs. Mary Minnick, 95 of near Attica and 16 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Guy T. Walters, the pastor, officiaitng. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The body will be in state for an hour at the church before the services. Friends may call at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
