Attica, Ind March 25 -- Gus LYONS, a well known and respected resident
of Attica, dropped dead last night at 8 while sitting in front of HE
Brant's grocery on Main Street. He had not been in good health for some
time. News of his death came as a great shock to the entire community.
He complained of feeling ill to a companion who called Mr. Brant but he
died instantly. They thinking he was still alive, picked him up and took
him in the rear of the building before discovering he had passed away.
Dr. AC Holley, coroner viewed the remains. The inquest was held this
afternoon at 2 o'clock. The doctor reported cause of death heart
trouble. Mr. Lyons was born May 30, 1865 about two miles east of Attica.
Besides the wife he is survived by two children, Hansel 10 and Helen 4.
Two brothers, Albert of this city and John of Hoopeston Il one sister
Mrs. Ed Gumert of Largo, Ind and his aged mother Mrs. Sophia Lyons who
has been residing in Hoopeston also survive. - typed by kbz
